| December 8, 1941 and five of the sixman football team and their coach join the navy. They vow that all will return from WW11. Each takes a cleat from a football shoe as a good luck token. The shoe was kept until they all did indeed return to Lepanto. They served on : USS MCFARLAND USS CERO USS SARATOGA USS PREBLE USS GENERAL C.C. BALLOU USSGAMBLE A victory Dance was givin in Lepanto in HONOR OF ALL VETERANS |
